Turning to the Internet in search of a partner
lets me know that you are already out of order. If you are a woman, the
Bible says "He who finds a wife finds a good thing" (Proverbs 18:22). So what
are you looking for? If you are a man and you are at home on you computer
looking for a woman you are out of place.
The Scriptures show us clearly that King David fell into great sin gazing at a woman from his vantage point when he was supposed to be at war (2 Samuel 11:1-27).
We are not supposed to be in search of a mate. We are supposed to be in search of God. "Delight yourself in the Lord and H will give you the desires of you heart" (Psalms 37:4). When we go in search of our desires, we fall into deception and open ourselves up to a wide array of disappointing experiences as well as dangerous circumstances. Even the world know better.
As children of the most high God we can't adopt the world's standards and practices into our life. We are not to follow these practices, because we are called to a higher standard of life. Every time the Israelites adopted the practices of the heathen, they ended up going into bondage. And so when we get caught up in the pursuit of human love. Our lives are supposed to be a living witness to the world of God's ability to supply our every need, including our heartfelt desire to be an intimate covenant with another person.
If you have enough time to go searching on the Internet for a mate, you have enough time to pray and ask God to order you steps to meet the one that He knows is His best for you.
