Farewell Rev. Bernard Barber from the Web Ministry

Farewell Rev. Bernard Barber from the Web MinistryAs we at the Star know by now, Rev. Bernard Barber has moved on. We are so proud of the advance in his Spiritual calling. The Web Ministry was encouraged often by his service to us as Pastoral Advisor. There were times when the team called on "Rev. B", as we called him, for counseling, prayer, advice and yes… admonishing. His approach was always spontaneous, gentle and spiritual.

Rev. Barber preached his initial sermon on the 26th of December 1999 and was licensed that day. He was ordained to the work of the Gospel Ministry on the 10th of December 2000. On the 4th of September 2011 he will be assigned to the All Saints Evangelical Lutheran Church under the tutelage of Pastor Churchill Wortherly for approximately one year. He however remains a member in good standing at the Morning Star Baptist Church of Christ, and is still attending the National Baptist Congress of Christian Education, and the Baptist Deacons Conference of Baltimore and Vicinity.

The best way I can express a fitting farewell is to convey some of the team's comments to him through our "Group" - a private internet portal exclusively for web committee members. I'll take it upon myself, this once, to give all of you a peek:

As posted in the order received from:

Preston Davis - Webmaster

It's been a pleasure to work with you Rev. Barber. I look forward to visiting you at your Church and to the day when I can call you "Pastor" Barber (or Pastor B. for short :->).

Both working on this website and working alongside you in the Men's Bible Study classes have been greatly rewarding, and I have learned a lot from your leadership and input. I am privileged and honored to also call you my friend. I am sure will you "Serve the Lord" on your current Assignment as you have so faithfully done here at Morning Star. Go with God! (But come back and visit us).

Know that the work we begun will continue. While we are saddened by your departure, we rejoice: for God has given you even more work to do in His service. We also rejoice because we who remain have a strong Word from the Lord:

"Just as I have been with Moses, I will be with you; I will not fail you or forsake you." Joshua 1:5b

I look forward to taking over the Men's Bible Study and growing this web site into the Witness for the Lord that I know it can will be.

Anna Craig - Co-Chair

Ditto Preston's message, you know what I mean! We are and have always been Special to each other and I will miss that closing scripture in your message to us that you always started your sermons with. I'll miss so much about the words you spoke...along with the 'dimples' when you smiled. I'm proud of you. Go with God!

Wow! Thank you so very much for all that you have taught me. I too will truly miss your opening scripture, I now find myself often quoting it even when I didn't think I remembered it entirely. Your many messages will continue to replay forever in my memory. You will be missed. I am very happy for you and very proud of your accomplishments. I knew that you were destined for greater things and this was just a stop along your journey. I am glad that I was able to travel in your path. Peace and blessings to you!

David Green - Editor

Congratulations to you Rev. Barber. The Lord is never slack concerning His promises and He has always been our friend. It has been a privilege to work with you and to learn from you. I know you will do well in your new position. Prayerfully our church and your new church home will be able to fellowship together. The church will miss you and the Men of the Star will miss you. May the Lord continue to guide you to higher heights and God bless!

Jonathan Ray - Editor

To my friend Rev. Barber as always I am the last at the "Star" to find out anything. When I got back from Florida I overheard in a conversation the good news! I am saddened on one hand because as the new kid on the block you from the start encouraged me!

You began to speak to me as a preacher long before anyone else did and I am grateful. I am excited for you one, because you deserve it, secondly I have watched the Lord groom you for the next season of your calling.

Your "firstfruits" have been a stellar example of how a modern man should walk in the calling God birthed and is developing in you! I'll miss you as well! Go and be blessed of the Lord. That's all I can say right now!!!!!!!

Richard Spence - Technical Advisor

Rev. B. you displayed a job well done and the best of wishes and blessings in your future endeavors. You will truly be missed.

As my closing, Rev. Bernard Barber while I am sorry, very sorry to see you leave us, I congratulate you on your new position and I know, with the ministry of the Holy Spirit, you will make a great success of it. 'FAREWELL' From the Web Team!
