She received her early education in the schools of Bethel, N.C. After moving to Baltimore, Maryland in 1944, she completed her education graduating from Frederick Douglass High school in 1950. She was employed by Life Like Products as a Supervisor for 15 years. She later became Secretary and Administrative Secretary of the Morning Star Baptist Church of Christ and received Certification in Secretarial Administration from the Strayer Business College.

In 1951, she married the late Colonel Robert L. Miller, Sr. From this union three children were born. Having been a military wife she traveled extensively throughout Europe and Asia.

Theressia, affectionately known as Margaret, received Christ at an early age. She joined the Morning Star Baptist Church of Christ under the pastorage of the late Reverend George Jacob Garnett. She was dedicated to many ministries of the church including the Pastors Aide, Missionaries, Sunday School, Choirs, Board of Christian Education, Family Life and Vacation Church School.

Family was most important to Margaret. She lived out her Christian faith doing what she loved, service to God, her family and others. The life she lived spoke for her. She always had a kind spirit and gentle smile. She sacrificed much to assist others. She enjoyed visiting other churches, traveling with the church and her friends.

Our church now has a void, our hearts now have an ache, but heaven has gained an angel, a fact no one can forsake.

Ma Miller, we love you, we miss you and we take this time to pay homage to your legacy of love and dedication.
