Shirley
Pinkett was born on August 8, 1931 in Baltimore, Maryland and was the fifth of
ten children born of the union between the late James P. Holland and the late
Alice Whitehead Holland Floyd. She went home to live in eternity with her God on
December 27, 2010.
To extract a quote from the obituary she wrote herself, "There is no need to elaborate on accomplishments, successes or failures. Suffice it to say I walked to the drumbeat of the Master Drummer, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I lived now I have died. My mission is over. Whatever the Lord had planned for me to do, I sincerely hope I was able to do it in ways that were pleasing to Him." She is survived by everyone who loved her.
Shirley H Pinkett was a member of Morning Star Baptist Church of Christ for over 70 years. She was a dedicated member and generously supported the church. Mrs. Pinkett displayed many spiritual gifts that she openly shared on an ongoing basis. Shirley Pinkett started The First Love Bible Class over ten years ago. She continued to support it. A Bible was mailed to the group in March, 2011 that was ordered by her before her death.
Not only did Shirley Pinkett love the Lord but she also demonstrated it in her Christian walk. She was well versed in knowledge of the Lord and willingly shared this knowledge at all times.
Mrs. Pinkett was an avid supporter of the Morning Star Baptist Church of Christ's web site. She assisted with proofreading articles and continued until her health no longer permitted her to. She never wanted her name mentioned in the articles because, as she stated, she was helping because the Spirit led her to. She went to her Heavenly home in the style befitting the queen she was here on earth.
