We as Christians have chosen to make
Jesus Christ the Master of our lives. As Christians, we accept that God changes
us from our old person to a new person who should think and act differently. We
no longer do the things we used to do or visit the places we used to go. We are
"born again".
There are many activities, however, Christians can engage in and many places they can go and still maintain their Christian status while enjoying themselves. One such place is the Reginald F Lewis Museum of Maryland African American History and Culture. The museum houses three main galleries: African American Families and Communities in Maryland, Labor and the Black Experience, and Black Art and Intellect. The museum is located just east of President Street and on the outskirts of Little Italy. It is less than a block from the waterfront. The museum is filled with exhibits on Maryland's African-American history and is the largest museum of its kind on the East Coast.
In February you can explore two new African-American art exhibitions, "Lift Every Voice: Photographs of African-American Musicians" by Russ Moss and "One Night in '64: African-American Voices and Television in the Civil Rights Era".
The museum also features a Learning Resource Center. Here you experience the unique Oral History Recording and Listening Studio. You can listen to the history and record your own history.
Other activities that can be enjoyed are the theatrical performances in the 200-seat Theatre /Auditorium and the wonderful café and gift shop. The café serves various Maryland dishes and the gift shop tops of the experience.
