Gregory, a graduate of Frederick Douglas High School, is the proud father of Felecia Annette Blackmon and Gregory A. Hines Junior. He is Granddad to Nyla, Marcus and Richard Hines.

He formally joined Morning Star Baptist Church of Christ and was baptized in 1958 by Reverend Nathaniel Wicks. As a child, Gregory was a member of the Cub Scouts, and the Boys and Girls Choir under the direction of Mary L. Backus. That was the beginning of his formal singing career. He later joined the Young Adult Choir at the "Star" and the choir at his school. He was honored to be a member of the All City Chorus and sang with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra while in high school.

At the age of eighteen Gregory joined the Air Force and was gone from the Star for a long while. He states, "In 2000 I had a calling from the Lord to return to my roots and give all that I could to the glory of the Lord". He returned to the Star and joined the Combined Choir, The Men's Ministry, The Deacon Board, and the Web Committee.

As Chairperson of the web committee at its inception, he was responsible for the initial information contained on the web site. He had a small staff and together got the web site started. Since that time he was selected to work with the web site in the area of media, his expertise. Gregory feels this is where he is of greater use. Deacon Hines says," I feel that we have a fantastic site and I am glad to pioneer this service to our church as well as our Lord." This endeavor is an attempt to spread the Word and bring souls to God thru the World Wide Web. With the grace of God I hope to continue working for the Lord. It's only what you do for God that will last. God bless.

Gregory's favorite hymn is "Over my Head". This hymn makes it possible for him to go on when things look bleak. His favorite scripture is the 23rd Psalm.

The Morning Star Baptist Church of Christ is fortunate to have Gregory as someone who does whatever he feels needs to be done for the betterment of the Star without being asked and at his own expense. We thank you Greg, keep up the good work.
