Here at Morning Star Baptist Church of Christ, we continue to be very active in our surrounding community. Currently, we are assisting members of the church and community with financial needs, clothing needs and health issues.
"…comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble…"(2 Corinthians 1:4 KJV).
"Faithful" and "just" are two words that describe our dedication to servicing members in the church and community over the years. We host annual events open to the community such as: "Give-Away-Day" sponsored by the Men's Ministry, where we provide clothes and food to the community, a book bag project sponsored by the Church School that supplies necessities to students returning to school, canned good drives for Thanksgiving, sponsored by the Nurses Unit. During the Christmas season, the Nurses Unit also sponsors a Christmas tree project where we collect hats, gloves and mittens to be distributed to needy children in the community.
We assist individuals and families with financial emergencies such as utilities, rent, etc. The Women's Ministry sponsors Operation Christmas Child which is a project where we send out shoeboxes filled with small toys, toiletries, clothing items, etc., along with literature on the gospel to children all over the world. We have outdoor Evangelistic services, which are sponsored by our Missionary Society that are open to the public; and members of the Men's Bible Study and Women's Ministry travel throughout the surrounding neighborhoods spreading the gospel and inviting people to come to our church.
This is just a glimpse of the community services that are or have been provided by the church. We now extend the invitation to fellowship with us to you.
We have a Benevolent Fund for the purpose of outreach. Our Benevolent Fund allows us to say "Yes" to the constant calls that we receive for assistance with utility bills, rent, medication and food. We believe that charity begins at home.
