To some -as it's recorded in the
Bible- are given one gift, to others are given several gifts. What you do with
those gifts determines not only what kind of person you become but more importantly how
you use those gifts to honor God who is the giver of every good and perfect
gift. Rev. Samuel Jonathan Ray, Jr. is blessed with many gifts all of which he
is unashamed to give back to the Lord!
Continually serving the "Star" as Senior Organist, in the year of 2009 he answered the call to preach. He preached his Initial Sermon on Sunday November 29, 2009. The title of the sermon was Transformation to Transfiguration. Scriptural references can be found in the books of Romans 12:2, Matthew 17:2 and Mark 9:2. The house was packed and the Holy Ghost was in the room! He was blessed to be a part of the 7 Last words held at New Beginnings Church of God in Christ in Reisterstown MD. He preached the second word and from the topic, "So You Think You have been Abandoned?" Scriptural reference was Matthew 27:46.
To educate the inner compelling to preach the Word of God, Rev. Ray, Jr. began seminary in the fall of 2010 at Easton's Theological Seminary Baltimore Branch. He is readying himself for the spring semester to begin January 17, 2011. Please pray for him as he further equips himself to preach the gospel to a lost and dying world. He is looking forward to ordination in 2011. Pray for him and he will pray for you!
Mark 16:15… And he said unto them, "Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature." (KJV)
