Mission

Our mission is to spread the word of God through Modern Dance and also spread our special message that God's mercy is everlasting and his truth endures to all generations.

About Us

The "Moving in the Spirit" dance ministry is under the direction of Ms. Elaine Harmon and Ms. JoAnn Jackson of the Morning Star Baptist Church of Christ.

In our inception, the all female Dance Ministry introduced many and amazed others with the power of ministering through dance. Through the years the look of our ministry has changed with the addition of three male dancers. These young men were so inspired by what they saw and what the ministry represented that they stepped outside of what was deemed normal and decided to express their love for the Lord through dance.

With the blessings of our pastor, we have had numerous engagements throughout the Baltimore metropolitan area and along the east coast. In our travels we have blessed churches and brought people to Christ with our lyrical dance moves.

We thank God for a pastor who understands that the youth have a need to praise the Lord in our own way. We bless the congregation on the 4th and 5th Sunday of the month with our interpretations of music through dance.

Membership Requirements

We invite you to come join us by giving your time and talents to the Lord through the Dance Ministry. Rehearsals are held every Tuesday and Thursday from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. We do have the following requirements:

• We ask that you be a professing Christian
• A member of Morning Star Baptist Church
